CC: Cobalt & Coral

I was daring enough to wear these bright hues in Puerto Rico last week and loved the look! (most of you know I always do black) What a delight to see the same bold colors featured in an NM post today.

Tighty Whitey’s

Recent Purchase: Sold Spring Street Pull-On Skinny Jeans

I first saw these pants on my recent issue of Us Weekly (pg. 67). After a little research I made a bold choice and went with the white. I thought it would be more appropriate for the excruciatingly hot Florida summer that lies ahead… that and I’m trying to incorporate brighter colors into my wardrobe.

Apparently this label is known for their super stretchy denim that’s supposed to “smooth and hug the contour of your body” (says the marketing team at Neiman Marcus) Works for me!! Cant wait.

* Neiman’s. $98

Dashing Denim

So… brightening your Spring wardrobe now includes your denim as well.  J Brand Jeans has an A-mazing line of “Haute Hues’ for their Spring collection of denim including: bright royal (cobalt), bright red, bright fuchsia as well as some pastel shades like pale pink and blue. The brighter shades have become one of the latest celeb trends and I must say I’m a fan! Would you rock colored denim?

Do You Have the Time?

Aaron’s birthday (the fiance) was April 26th, so of course I just asked him what he wanted (trust me, he’s pickier than I am!). His request: a black G-shock with a gold face. Simple enough… our friend Ant had just purchased a few so Aaron was able to see it and he knew which one he wanted. Then I remembered Liz had sent me an email about these watches ages ago! They can totally be unisex- her and her fiance have a few colors and they share. Brilliant! Happy Birthday to Aaron and I can borrow it when I want…

For his next gift I’ll get him a white one, I think it would go great with my spring ensembles. 🙂

Lighten Up

Spring is here… which is quite tricky for me since all I wear and own is pretty much black. I’m trying my hardest to ‘lighten up’ so I’ve chosen a lot more blues to incorporate into my wardrobe. Along with a lighter, more colorful wardrobe I’m convinced I need a new bag to go with the look. It’s time to put the black Brahmin bag away and go for a lighter neutral bag. My first choice is a nude or tan shade! It’s a change from the black and will easily transition through the seasons and into fall and winter. Below are a few of my options- thoughts??

My Moon Manicure

LOVE this edgy version of a french manicure! Thanks to my new obsession with Twitter (and the need to polish my nails incessantly) I came across InStyle’s link to the “3 Must Have Manicures” including this Moon Manicure. It’s a darker, more daring look than the typical french tip so I know not everyone is going to flock to this trend but I had to try it. The InStyle photo shows a clean black and white look but I opted to tone it down a bit and kept it black with a clear gloss.

Obviously I don’t have the patience, time or technique to do this at home so I printed a photo and brought it in to my manicure appointment today. If you’re feeling a little adventurous click on this “Get the Look” link , try it at home, and let me know how it goes!

’70’s Chic

It’s clear the ’70s are back. This includes high-waist denim, wide-leg pants, peasant blouses and even disco glam on everything from make-up trends to sparkly tops.

My favorite part of this spring ’70s fashion movement are the flared high- waisted jeans. I’m subscribed to whowhatwear.com (you should be too) and ever since I received “Go Buy Now: ’70’s-Style Jeans” email alert I have been obsessing over purchasing a new pair of jeans. I have a certain dilemma with being 7 months pregnant but for those who have the ability to wear a nice pair of fitted, high-waisted jeans go buy a pair now!!

They look fabulous paired with a structured or flowy button-down tucked in. If you leave it un-tucked it looks sloppy- so please don’t. Be sure to find the proper length too! The hem should not touch the ground or cover all of your shoe, that just looks weird….

This is one of the most popular denim styles right now so it should be fairly easy to find your perfect pair. I recommend starting somewhere like Nordstrom where you’ll have a variety of brands, styles and washes to choose from. Let me know how it goes!

Happy Shopping. 🙂

JewelMint Line- Sign Me Up!

I keep reading about Kate Bosworth and Cher Coulter’s  new jewelry line,  JewelMint and I had to check it out for myself.  Kate Bosworth has teamed up with friend and Celebrity Stylist Cher Coulter to design each and every piece of jewelry in their collection and it’s sold exclusively online. Here’s how to join JewelMint:

First you start out by taking a personal style quiz which consists of fashion images and you click on which one best suits your style and personality. This generates your ‘personal showroom’ where you will find the pieces of jewelry selected for you based on your style quiz. For $29.99 a month (that includes shipping) you pick out one  piece of jewelry from your showroom and it’s mailed to you. You don’t need to purchase something every single month if you don’t want to… they don’t  automatically charge you a monthly fee, it’s only if you make a purchase.

It’s a neat website, good to have because everything on the website is 70% off retail cost so you get a major discount and there’s no pressure to buy each month! I’m joining… I fell in love with these oyster earrings. (They know exactly what I like) 😉

William Rast for Target!

Yes, it’s true! William Rast, aka Justin Timberlake’s fashion line with childhood friend Trace Ayala, will be collaborating with Target and bringing us affordable high-end fashion just in time for the Holidays.

The William Rast for Target line will reflect the theme for the their fall/winter 2010 collections, which JT describes as “biker bohemia”. Among some of the pieces that I saw in this months InStyle magazine was a gorgeous tan motorcycle jacket, an awesome tuxedo jacket and a must-have plaid button down.

Lastly, JT swears they left the fit of their highly coveted jeans exactly the same… the best part is you can purchase them at Target for $50!

The William Rast for Target collection will be available Dec. 19 at Target stores and target.com. Happy Shopping!

Goth to Glam

Winter is finally here…(not so much Tampa but everywhere else)  and with a new season comes new make-up! Or at least the need to revamp your old make-up.

A quick and inexpensive way to turn your brighter shades to winter shades is to add a little “goth” to it. Yes, I mean black. Candice discovered an amazing make-up line called Illamasqua: “Make-up for your alter ego”. The web-site is fabulous and their make-up is amazing. Lucky for us they also sell Illamasqua at Sephora (my heaven) which is where Candice found her new matte, black shade ($22).

First you apply the black matte color as your base, then add a brighter red to it and you’ve just created a new “vampy” lip color! If you like a little shine, simply add gloss.

Embrace your inner make-up artist and experiment with all your brighter shades…thanks Candice- brilliant idea.
